Crochet Terminology.

Now you can understand the crochet terminology and the way you apply the skills using the various patterns and abbreviations used in the patterns.
 You also need to know more about the basic stitches and the terms that get along with them.
 You need to learn the basic stitches and proceed to reading crochet patterns to create your own desired clothing.
Here are some of the commonly used terms and abbreviations in your quest to learn and master the art of crochet.

CH chain stitch (basic chain like crochet pattern)
DC  Double Crochet (a kind of stitch that is taller than single crochet)
DEC  Decrease
DTR  Double Treble (having 3 yarn over before starting a new stitch)
CL  Cluster stitch (sets of stitches that you work across the same stitch patterns)
FPDC  Front Post Double Crochet (also known as front raised double crochet)
FPSC  Front Post Single Crochet (similar and easier than FPDC)
FPTC  Front Post Treble Crochet (works by making a treble crochet on the front post)
HDC  Half Double Crochet 
INC  Increase
P ­­­ Picot (small round-shaped stitches that decorating the edges)
PC Popcorn 
SC Single Crochet (the simplest stitch in making fabric)
SC2TOG Single Crochet 2 Stitches Together
SL ST - Slip Stitch (smallest crochet stitch)
TR - Treble Crochet (a tall stitch that quickly works up with more fun and ease)
TRTR - Triple Treble Crochet (makes a looser pattern since it is taller than other stitch types)


These are just some of the names of stitches that you need to be familiar with. 
You also need to know about loops, back posts, front posts, back loops, chain spaces and any other terms used for places where you need to put stitches.
